Good Neighbor Program

"I was naked and you clothed me"  Matthew 25:36
See the Good Neighbor Program in action when you
watch this video, as Father Frisoni takes us on a tour.
The Good Neighbor Program helps provide clothing to school-age children in Schenectady County.
Many families struggle to make ends meet and cannot provide adequate clothing for their children.  The Good Neighbor Program allows community members to help each other out by donating clean, gently used or new clothing to a child in need.  Providing children with care packages of clothing not only takes the burden off of the family, but can also help make a child feel more comfortable and confident to face the school day when they know they will have a clean, weather appropriate, well fitted outfit to wear.
How does the Good Neighbor Program hear about a child or family with several children who are in need?
Referrals are made to the Good Neighbor Program from Schenectady County Schools' teachers, nurses and social workers.  We also receive referrals from Schenectady Department of Social Services, community organizations, area food pantries and parishes.
Monetary support is also most welcomed as we often have to buy an item or two when our inventory is low in a particular size and a child has an immediate need for that size.  If you would like to make a gift today, go to our DONATE page and indicate in the comments that your donation is for the  Good Neighbor Program.

Your donations to the Good Neighbor Program matter:

"I just wanted to thank you and your volunteers for your help with our family that needed assistance this past week. They truly appreciated the bags of clothing and we appreciate the time and energy you put into helping families such as ours." (Family Service Worker, Schenectady Community Action Program, Inc.)

"All of the families we gave clothing to were so grateful and overwhelmed - please thank your volunteers and thanks to God for providing!"
