Welcome!

Welcome to Virtual Called to Serve Family Sunday!  We are happy you are joining us for this well-loved day of prayer, service and fellowship.  Today, Following in His Footsteps, being ever mindful and present to each other in our times of need, is in many ways more important than ever. While we were unable to gather this year for this day, we hope that this virtual experience will bring a sense of togetherness in prayer, in service to others, and in fellowship with family and friends.  We pray that our collective commitment to Living the Works of Mercy will continue make a difference.

Please begin by joining us for the opening prayer service.

Workshops

Learn about how you can live the works of mercy here in our community. We have put together a variety of options in hopes of offering something that will work for everyone given the virtual setting this year. Some will require you to make a shopping trip to purchase items and some you can complete without leaving home. Please look through and select the option that works best for you and your family.
Feed The Hungry
Many church communities and agencies around the Capital District help families who deal with food insecurity make sure they will have food on their table.
Shelter The Homeless
Help assemble a Welcome Home Kit that includes some basic household items every home can use.
Environmental Justice
Pope Francis’ encyclical letter Laudato Si’ was released in June 2015. Five years later, in 2020, Pope Francis invited all Catholics and people of good will to celebrate its fifth anniversary by protecting families and future generations through action to care for our common home.
Visit The Sick
Sending cards can help people feel they are remembered and cared about while visits in person are not possible or limited.
Christmas Stockings
Stuff Christmas Stockings to help spread a little joy to a child this Christmas.
An Attitude of Gratitude
An attitude of gratitude means making it a habit to express thankfulness and appreciation in all parts of your life, on a regular basis, for both the big and small things alike.
Make Your Own Workshop
There are endless ways we can all Live the Works of Mercy. While we have offered some suggested projects, we also encourage you to create your own.
