Welcome! |
Welcome! Thank you for taking time to join us for our virtual Called to Serve Family Sunday 2021. We are hopeful to return to hosting an in-person event during Lent 2022. However, putting our faith into action cannot be delayed, not even by a pandemic. During the past year and a half, we have all experienced life through a different lens. Many things have changed—and changed again and again. What has never changed is that God loves us and is with us. What has never changed is the need for us to live the Works of Mercy and be present to those around us in their times of need.
Today, we invite you to spend time in prayer and service, either independently or with your circle of family and friends. Start by taking time with the prayer and reflection posted below based on Romans 5, "Love Poured Into Our Hearts". Next consider the suggested ways you share God's love by completing the suggested works of mercy workshops or coming up with your own. These can be done today, or on any day of your choice. We will be keeping this site open until our live event in April so feel free to come back and complete as many of the workshops as you are able to.
Opening Prayer and Reflection
Today, we invite you to begin by reading Romans 5:1-5. When you are finished, take time in prayer and reflection before exploring the self-paced workshop options we have posted.
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us"

Workshops
Learn about how you can live the works of mercy here in our community. We have put together a variety of options in hopes of offering something that will work for everyone given the virtual setting this year. Some will require you to make a shopping trip to purchase items and some you can complete without leaving home. Please look through and select the option that works best for you and your family.
